Photography lighting

Light is essential for photography. Photographers can use natural light, or they can control the lighting in their surroundings by making artificial light.
Natural light is thought of by most photographers as the best source of light. It makes use of the whole light spectrum, and therefore has almost no distorted colors. The only bad thing is that it is not continous; the sun's position, the number of clouds in the sky and the time of day all affect natural light.
Artificial light is more controllable than natural light, but it does not always cover the whole light spectrum and can discolor pictures. Different artificial lights are: florescent, tungsten, and flash.
Photographers use direct and diffused lighting so as to control light's direction. Direct lighting hits the photo's focal point from a certain direction, making contrasting dark and bright areas. Diffused lighting reflects the source of light, so that it goes onto the focal point at several angles.
Filters can also control light by lessening glare and allowing certain types of light through.
